Baking Pre-employment Program


If you want to work as a baker or pastry chef, this is your starting point. Our Baking Pre-employment Program is designed to help you launch a career in baking and pastry arts. Learn the basics of pastry, cakes and decorating through both hands-on training and classroom learning. Get specialized knowledge in areas such as artisanal bread making, chocolate techniques, fermentation and contemporary dessert plating. Also explore menu management, computer skills and nutrition studies.


Program Essentials:

Uniforms and equipment are not included in the stated course costs and can be purchased at the George Brown College bookstore (either on campus or online).

Completion Details

Once you have completed all the requirements of this program, you can request to receive a certificate. Program graduates are eligible to apply to enter the third term of the full-time George Brown College Baking and Pastry Arts Management (H113) diploma program.
