George Brown College offers the CAPS Certified Sommelier Program in conjunction with the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS). To gain acceptance into the program, you must complete the information below.

Eligibility Information

I am familiar with the basic principles of grape growing and wine making, the major grape varietals, the major appellations, and the current food and wine trends and issues.

I have completed the recommended courses from George Brown College, and/or I have copies of my grade records from my previous wine studies at other educational institutions, and/or I have a copy of my resumé or curriculum vitae (CV) that indicates my previous wine training and experience.

I am prepared to take the theoretical and practical entrance exam that includes blind tasting. I am aware I will be contacted with the details about the entrance exam after I submit my application.
