Our advanced Part 9 Buildings Fire Protection course is a detailed technical course. This building code course deals with the design and verification of fire-resistance ratings as found in Division B Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code. The curriculum covers fire protection; means of egress; exit facilities; suppression methods; fire separations; and the separation of major occupancies, service spaces and exits, including penetrations of fire separations.

Course Essentials:
You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium to the first class. The compendium is available for purchase through the George Brown College bookstore, at our Building Code and Trade Manuals website and at the Publications Ontario website.
Prerequisites
You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
