Our It's a Cinch: Corsetry Made Easy course introduces you to the range of materials and techniques used in the art of corsetry. Start out by learning to make basic samples using the various corset techniques. Once you have developed the right skills, practice researching, designing, and creating a corset that fits your personality and style.

Prerequisites

You must have completed our FASH 9141 Introduction to Industrial Sewing course or our FASH 9142 Basic Sewing course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.)

Additional Information

Course Essentials:

You will need to have your college-issued sewing kit (provided during the prerequisite courses), scissors, a flat-head screwdriver, sewing thread, pins, a seam ripper, hand needles, a measuring tape, and your own fashion fabric. You must also have access to a sewing machine outside of class hours (to complete assignments). The teacher will provide further details about the required supplies and fashion fabric during the first class.
