History of the Cinema LIBA 9314
Our History of the Cinema course explores major movements in the history of film. Learn about Hollywood, from the silent era to the development of specific genres (musicals, gangster films, horror films). Also consider propaganda films, film noir, the major European traditions (Soviet Montage, German Expressionism, Italian Neo-realism, French New Wave), and the development of independent cinema. Analyze films and clips by representative filmmakers from each period.
