OntarioLearn description: The course will familiarize the legal assistant student with the law as it relates to marriage, separation, divorce, child custody/access, and property disputes under legislation in Ontario. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have developed a basic knowledge and understanding of family law practice and procedure as required in the role of a legal assistant. Students will become familiar with the documents required for a simple divorce application.

Prerequisites

You must have completed LAW 9099 Legal Office Procedures (Online) and OP 9021 Legal Terminology (Online). (Approved equivalents are also acceptable. The discontinued Introduction to Legal Office Practice and Procedures course will be accepted in place of Legal Office Procedures.)
