Our Cinematography, Lighting and Sound Production course teaches you how to tell a story visually by giving you the opportunity to make a short film. Course activities are designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the role of director of photography for your film. Develop an appreciation of visual styles by viewing the works of great cinematographers then learn to prepare your own shot lists, storyboards and floor plans. Also receive technical guidance on using video and DSLR cameras, doing lighting set-ups, operating the boom and doing wireless microphone recording.

Course Delivery Method:

This is normally an in-class course but will be offered temporarily online while college buildings are closed. Pre-recorded videos will be sent to you before class so you can watch them for later discussion.

Course Essentials:

You will be required to bring video footage you have shot to class so it can be constructively critiqued.

Technical/Computer Requirements:

You will be required to have regular access to the Internet.

Recommendations

You will have the most success in this course if you already have camera knowledge/experience and/or a fine arts background before you start this course.
