Our Welding Fundamentals Program helps you get the fundamental skills, shop practices, and knowledge you need to be able to weld safely and effectively. Learn basic shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and oxy-fuel welding.
Career Opportunities
Career options typically include working with SMAW, GMAW, and oxy-fuel welding on carbon steel in entry-level structural welder positions.
Completion Details
Once you have completed all the requirements of this program, you can request to receive a certificate of completion using the department contact information on this web page. Program graduates can register for flat, horizontal, vertical, and/or overhead position welding testing held on-site at George Brown College's CWB accredited test centre. Exams are overseen by the CWB Group, and the CWB Group will issue the appropriate welding ticket/licence if an exam is passed.
