Our Small Buildings 2012 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. This building code course helps you review and become more familiar with the parts of the Ontario Building Code dealing with small buildings. The curriculum is based on the Small Buildings Syllabus (2012) and focuses on Division B Parts 3, 9, and 12 of the Code and on Supplementary Standards SB-2, SB-3, and SB-7.

You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
You will have the most success in this course if you have already completed the following three courses before you start this course:
- BLDG 9245 Part 9 The House Building Envelope: Virtual Classroom (Online) or BLDG 9265 Part 9 The House Building Envelope: Independent Study (Online)
- BLDG 9244 Part 9 The House Health and Safety: Virtual Classroom (Online) or BLDG 9264 Part 9 The House Health and Safety: Independent Study (Online)
- BLDG 9242 Part 9 Buildings Fire Protection (Online) or BLDG 9238 House 2012: Virtual Classroom (Online) or BLDG 9249 House 2012: Independent Study (Online)
You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium and the Small Buildings 2012 workbook/manual to the first class. The compendium and workbook/manual are both available for purchase through the George Brown College bookstore and at our Building Code and Trade Manuals website. The compendium can also be purchased at the Publications Ontario website.
