Our Construction Estimating 1 course explores quantity surveying and estimating, including the critical role of the quantity surveyor/estimator in the tendering or bidding process. Learn the general principles and rules used to measure and cost construction work, and investigate estimating with electronic spreadsheets.

This course has been recognized by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) as Gold Seal accredited training with CCA credit value and by the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) as a CIQS credit course.

Prerequisites

You must know how to read construction drawings, be familiar with construction materials and methodologies, be skilled in Microsoft Excel, and have an aptitude for basic mathematical calculations.

Exam Policies:

Final exams for all Estimating and Quantity Surveying online courses and some construction online courses are held on the same date in each term. If you are planning to register for more than one course in the same term, email cetech_construct@georgebrown.ca before you register.
