Our Cakes 1 course gives you the opportunity to learn the methods used to make different cake sponges, icings and fillings. Practice layering, filling and masking a variety of cakes (including pound cake, carrot cake, chiffon cake and chocolate cake), and develop the techniques used to assemble beautiful cakes that will appeal to everyone.

Prerequisites

You must have completed our HOSF 9134 Baking Arts course or our HOSF 9461 Baking Arts (Online) course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.)

Course Essentials:

You must bring your full George Brown chef uniform, black safety shoes (non-slip and steel toe), and tools to the first class.
