Biography:

Joy Mathews holds a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in addition to a master’s degree in moral/legal philosophy and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Toronto. His area of expertise is condominium law, and his experience includes litigation, enforcement, governance and operations, Tarion coverage, and common expense collection. His knowledge base also extends to areas of law that impact condominium corporations such as construction deficiencies, human rights, insurance coverage, and municipal planning and zoning. Joy wrote the Condominium Law course materials for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (currently in use for the Condominium Management Provider Licence run by the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario). He has also written a number of articles and blogs on condominium law, some of which have been featured in industry publications or quoted in the Toronto Star or Law Times. In addition to his teaching work at George Brown College, Joy has been an invited guest instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School, Humber College, and the University of Toronto.
