Our WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines: D1 Wine Production course covers the production of wine from the vineyard to the glass. The grape growing concepts studied in this course cover the anatomy of the vine and grape, natural factors in the vineyard, explaining and evaluating growing approaches, and how choices affect the grapes in terms of yield, character, and quality. Explore winemaking and post-fermentation options and how they further influence the style, quality, and price of wines. Further explore these concepts using the WSET Level 4 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine. Experience winemaking firsthand with a guided day trip to the Niagara Peninsula, led by a winemaker and viticulturist.

As this course is part of the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines, diploma registration and material fees are built into this course and are valid for three years. If this timeframe expires before you complete the diploma, you will be required to re-register with WSET.

Prerequisites

You must be at least 19 years of age and you must have successfully completed our HOST 9159 WSET Level 3 Award in Wines course or the same course at another Approved Programme Provider (APP) before you start this course.
