Blackboard Learn is a learning management system that the college uses to deliver course content. The basic online requirements still apply, so please refer to the General Online Course Requirements web page for details. Also note that you may need to have a camera and microphone (for teacher-led online sessions or student collaboration).
To learn how to use Blackboard, refer to the college-wide Students Blackboard Login and Help web page for details. (After you have registered, the department co-ordinator will send you any additional course details by email.) Run the Blackboard Help Browser Checker web page to see immediately if your browser and operating system are supported by the Blackboard Learn system.
Register early for online courses that require you to use Blackboard – especially if you are a new student – to ensure course access is in place for the start of your course. New student Blackboard account setup takes a minimum of one business day.
Your course will not appear within Blackboard until the first day of class. If you have not received your access in time for the first day of class, contact the department co-ordinator for your course. Contact information can be found on the course web page. (You can get to the course web page quickly by adding the course code to the end of our website URL – for example, coned.georgebrown.ca/COMM1008.)
