Our Security Guard course helps you acquire the knowledge and skills you need to prepare for a variety of careers in the security sector. This security course focuses on physical/personal security, crime prevention and emergency-level first aid skills. Explore the historical roots of security, and learn about the legislation, regulations and policies used by security personnel as well as their roles and responsibilities. Case studies, current research and best practice provide the foundation for learning. Pass this course to receive both a first aid certificate and a record of completion.
Course Delivery Method:
This course uses a blended format that combines self-directed learning, online learning, and classroom instruction. As per Ministry requirements, this is a 40-hour course: 10 hours must be completed before the course starts and 30 hours must be completed after. When you register, you will receive a welcome email detailing the requirements for the 10 hours of self-directed learning that must be completed before the course starts. Once the course starts, the remaining 30 hours will be delivered through scheduled teacher-led online sessions and an in-class session.
You must attend 100% of the scheduled classes to be eligible to pass this course.
Hours and Fees
Ten additional hours of self-directed learning must be completed before the start date. Of the remaining hours, four hours will be used to meet the CPR requirement. The teacher will provide details once the course starts.
