Our Diabetes Education Program is designed for health care professionals who wish to increase their knowledge and skills in diabetes education and care. The courses in this program place a particular focus on how to provide diabetes education to diverse populations living with pre-diabetes or diabetes. They reflect the current competencies of the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board (CDECB) and are intended for those preparing for the CDECB exam.
Nursing at George Brown College emphasizes holistic care, cultural diversity/sensitivity, critical thinking, and reflective practice. Courses take a patient-focused, family-centred, and interprofessional approach. Current research, adult learning principles, social justice, best practices, and lived experience provide the foundation for learning.
Once you have completed all the requirements of this program, you can request to receive a certificate of completion using the department contact information on this web page.
