Using both independent study and practical application, this course provides you with a targeted review and practical skill development to support safe, effective, and consistent clinical performance. Review the rationale, indications, contraindications, materials, and polymerization principles related to pit and fissure sealants. Focus on selecting and preparing the correct equipment and supplies, preparing prescribed tooth surfaces, maintaining effective moisture control, and applying sealant material according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Work towards improving accuracy, efficiency, confidence, and readiness through feedback, skill reinforcement, repeated clinical practice, and evaluation of clinical performance.
