Our Clinical Preceptorship course is based at a health care organization and provides you with the opportunity to synthesize prior learning. Practice planning and delivering care to patients from across the lifespan who are experiencing acute and chronic illness as well as their families. Focus on developing advanced communication, leadership, and collaboration skills using an integrated interprofessional education (IPE) immersion approach in order to achieve increased independence when delivering patient and family care.

Prerequisites

You must have completed NURS 1139 Health Assessment Through the Life Span or NURS 1148 Health Assessment Through the Life Span, NURS 1140 Clinical Decision Making or NURS 1149 Clinical Decision Making, and NURS 1138 Transition to Practice for Nurses or NURS 1137 Transition to Practice for Nurses and you must have completed the relevant Placement Pass health form and all required testing (organized through the Clinical Pre-Placement Office) and you must have sent the Placement Pass health form (along with all required documentation) to ParaMed. Once you have been cleared, ParaMed will send a formal report directly to Continuing Education.

CLINICAL PLACEMENT LOCATIONS: Clinical placements are provided in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  You are expected to provide your own transportation to/from clinical placements.
