Our Building Structural 2024 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. This building code course helps you review and become more familiar with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) requirements related to building structures. The curriculum provides an introduction to and overview of the structural requirements found in the OBC and focuses on Volume 1 Division B.

Note(s)

This course can help you prepare to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) Building Structural 2024 exam (not included). The MMAH exam is administered by Humber College. For more information, visit the Ontario Building Code Examinations website.

Prerequisites

You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.

Recommendations

You will have the most success in this course if you already have a familiarity with Parts 4 and 9 of the 2024 OBC before you start this course.

Course Essentials:

You must have a copy of the 2024 Building Code Compendium before you begin this course. The compendium is available for purchase through the George Brown College bookstore, at our Building Code and Trade Manuals website, and at the Publications Ontario website.
