Our Paralegal Field Placement 1 course is intended to provide you with hands-on experience in a professional legal environment during the Term 4 Module. Actively participate in daily operations, functions, and procedures as you practice professional behaviour. Perform assigned duties and meet deadlines while making use of legal precedents, resources, and files. Learn to apply time management skills, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills and to adapt your behaviour in response to professional feedback. Finish the course by analyzing your field placement experience.

This field placement falls within the permitted scope of practice for paralegal students (refer to the LSO's By-Law 4 for more information) and meets the competencies set out in the Paralegal Education Program Accreditation Form 3 (Individual Course Information Form). Prerequisites

You must have completed the Term 1 Module, Term 2 Module, and Term 3 Module of our Paralegal Program and you must have a minimum cumulative average of C (63%) in your previously completed Paralegal courses and you must contact the college (using the department contact information on this web page) to get written permission to register and obtain a field placement manual. Anyone who registers without prior permission will be removed from the placement.
