Our Soil Mechanics Fundamentals course explores soil as it relates to civil and structural construction. The study of soil mechanics is the first and most important process in constructing a building or travel way. Information gathered about the soil dictates the type of equipment, the type of foundation, and the type of support materials to be used. Learn how to determine the formation, performance, classification, characteristics, composition, strength, compaction, permeability, stress, stability, and bearing capacity of soil.
