Microsoft Excel Macros and VBA 1: Data Input COMP 9670


Our Microsoft Excel Macros and VBA 1: Data Input course teaches you to use Excel features and create Excel macros so that you end the course having created a database update application. As a result, you'll have learned to create Excel macros from the ground up. Learn to generate unbreakable VBA code and to use absolute referencing, relative referencing and VBA Messaging to control or abort macro processing. Focus on the use of Excel's Macro Recorder to minimize the need for manual VBA coding. This online Excel course enables you to learn at your own pace while having an onscreen teacher lead you each step of the way. Better yet, live online help is available using desktop sharing, which makes the remote access experience feel like a live classroom.


Course Delivery Method:

This is an online course, but it is not a Blackboard course. On the course start date, you will receive an email from (the teacher) containing the login information. The teacher will provide access information for the after-training support package (bonus material, updates, a searchable e-workbook and access to a Q&A forum) during the workshop.

Course Essentials:

You must have the Windows version of Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher.


Macro/VBA experience is not required. However, you must have completed our COMP 9197 Microsoft Excel 1 course or our COMP 9727 Microsoft Office Fundamentals course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.) After you have registered for this workshop but before you begin class, you must complete the Before the First Online Course materials.

Additional Information

This course and the other courses in the Microsoft Excel with Macros and VBA Program will not be offered again by Continuing Education at George Brown College after their July 13 offerings. Note that, if you are planning to complete the program, you will need to complete all three courses by August 2021.
