Our Large Buildings 2012 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. This building code course helps you review and become more familiar with the parts of the Ontario Building Code dealing with large buildings. The curriculum reviews the prerequisite material for our Complex Buildings 2012 course and the qualification exam. It is based on Large Building Syllabus (2012) and focuses on Volume 1: Division A Parts 1, 2 and 3; Division B Parts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12; and points of interest as found in Division C Parts 1 and 2. It also reviews parts of Volume 2 Supplementary Standards SA-1, SB-2, SB-8, SB-10 and SB-13.

You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium and the Large Buildings 2012 workbook/manual to the first class. The compendium and workbook/manual are both available for purchase through the George Brown College bookstore and at our Building Code and Trade Manuals website. The compendium can also be purchased at the Publications Ontario website.
You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
You will have the most success in this course if you have already completed the following two courses before you start this course:
- BLDG 9241 Part 3 Large Buildings Classification and Construction or BLDG 9267 Part 3 Large Buildings Classification and Construction (Distance Learning)
- BLDG 9240 Part 3 Large Buildings Health and Safety Requirements (Distance Learning) or BLDG 9233 Small Buildings 2012 or BLDG 9250 Small Buildings 2012 (Distance Learning)
