Skin Care 1 FASH 9226 Email to a Friend Our Skin Care 1 course examines skin anatomy and physiology as well as skin types and conditions. Get the skills you need to perform a variety of procedures and techniques (such as client consultations, cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and proper sterilization). Using a variety of esthetics equipment, learn to perform a full facial (including extractions) and Swedish massage. Classes occasionally feature industry guest speakers and representatives from skin care product lines who help you become more familiar with the esthetics industry. Practice what you learn by performing services – on classmates, models and clients – in the classroom and in the school spa. Public health standards, personal appearance, professionalism, etiquette and communication are integral parts of this course. Note(s) Classroom and Exam Policies: You will be required to work on other students and to let other students work on you in order to gain the skills you need to work on models and clients. You will also be required to bring your own model on occasion and for practical exams. Dress Code: You will be required to wear comfortable shoes, our esthetics uniform and no enhancements on your nails at all times in class. If you do not already own one, you must purchase our uniform from the Makeup and Esthetics Student Store at a cost of $90 (plus tax). Prerequisite(s) You must have completed grade 12 English.
