    OntarioLearn description: This course provides the knowledge and skills required to transfer a small to mid-size business or individual from a paper-based operation into a computerized format using Sage Software’s Sage 50. Students build a set of books for a small business which include setting up each of the individual ledger modules, exploring the features which integrate or link the modules, performing day-to-day accounting activities, and using the report features.


    This is an online course delivered via OntarioLearn. Please ensure you are familiar with the technology requirements specific to this course:

    • Hardware: Processor operating at 1.0 GHz or higher (2.0 GHz recommended) with 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended), 2 GB of available hard-disk space (additional 400 MB needed for installation), CD-ROM drive, 1024x768 SVGA monitor capable of displaying 256 colours
    • Operating system: Microsoft-supported version of Windows Vista/7/8 with latest updates from Microsoft
    • Software: Sage 50 Accounting 2015 (students will be instructed on how to install a free Student Version of the software in the first week of the course) and Internet Explorer 7 or later

    You must be an experience computer user who is comfortable studying in an online environment, using the Internet and email, and installing software.
