    Our Robotics Technician Certificate provides an introduction to applied robotics, focusing on the role of robots in manufacturing systems. Learn to program, maintain, repair and manage industrial robotics systems. Topics include vision and tactile sensors, motion programming, safety, palletizing, conveyor systems, automated sorting systems, computer integration and artificial intelligence.

    Fees are $90 per module plus $400 for the CD or USB drive (which includes all software and required materials). International applicants are charged the same fees but in US dollars (US$90 plus US$400); the posted exchange rate in effect at the time of your registration will be used to determine the final fee in Canadian dollars. Refunds will not be provided for the CD or USB course materials.     Career Opportunities

    Robotics technicians work closely with designers, engineers and technologists and are involved in the development, testing, programming and actual on-site installation of new robots. They also train others to install, use and maintain robots.

    You must have a secondary school diploma (with credits at or above the general level) or an approved equivalent or have mature student status.

    Completion Details

    You complete all the required modules (including lab projects, review exercises and tests) from the comfort of your own home using an interactive learning package. The package consists of a CD or USB drive containing 13 modules, which use a combination of multimedia learning resources and a robotics simulation software package. The robotics simulation software essentially converts your computer into a virtual robot, complete with a three-dimensional learning environment and control systems. You may enrol in this certificate at any time (continuous intake) and complete each module in your own time. Average completion time is 28 weeks of study, but there are no time limits (and previous electronics and/or robotics/automation experience and education may reduce that time significantly).
