• Payroll Fundamentals I FIN 9016

    Through our Payroll Fundamentals I course, learn to apply payroll legislation and calculate all components of individual pay (from remuneration, through deductions, to net pay) for both regular and irregular situations. Acquire the knowledge and skills needed to effectively communicate all aspects of the individual pay calculation process to both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, learn to accurately complete records of employment.


    This course is equivalent to the Payroll Fundamentals 1 course offered by the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). You must register in and pay for this course at George Brown College and register with and pay a separate course fee to the CPA. To register for the course with the CPA, you must be a CPA member and pay a course fee of $340 (plus tax). If you are not a member, you must pay for a one-year membership ($200) in addition to paying the CPA course fee, making the total CPA fee $540 (plus tax). Your registration form and payment must be submitted to CPA no later than 10 business days prior to the course start date in order to ensure the timely delivery of printed course materials and access to online materials. The CPA will ship the printed course materials to your preferred mailing address and email an access code for the online materials to your preferred email address.     You must have completed our FIN 9015 Payroll Compliance Legislation course or an approved equivalent.
