Pattern Drafting for Menswear FASH 9259

Our Pattern Drafting for Menswear course helps you develop your basic knowledge and understanding of menswear pattern drafting. Learn the methods used in the fashion industry to draft basic shirt blocks for men from standard body measurements and develop the blocks into various styles made in fabric. Practice creating your own stylized shirt and sewing the final garment.

Course Essentials:

You must have your own fashion fabric, sewing kit, screws (for the needle and presser foot), flat-head screwdriver, sewing thread, pins, seam ripper, hand needles, pencils, scissors, adhesive tape, and 18-inch clear ruler. The teacher will provide details during the first class. However, you must bring the pencils, scissors, pins, adhesive tape, and 18-inch clear ruler to the first class.

Prerequisites

You must have basic sewing skills or you must have completed our FASH 9141 Introduction to Industrial Sewing course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.)
