• Part 9 The House Building Envelope BLDG 9245

    Our Part 9 The House Building Envelope course is a detailed technical course. This building code course deals with construction of houses as single detached dwellings under Division B, Part 9, of the Ontario Building Code. The curriculum covers building inspectors, plans, building permits and site plans; construction of foundations; floors-on-ground; reinforced concrete slabs; roofs and ceilings; and floors and walls, including brick veneer.     Course Essentials:

    You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium and the Part 9: The House – Building Envelope technical manual to the first class. The compendium and manual are both available for purchase at the George Brown College bookstore (either on campus or online). (You must have your confirmation of registration to purchase the Part 9: The House – Building Envelope technical manual from our bookstore.) The compendium can also be purchased at the ServiceOntario Publications website.

    You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
