• Part 9 Buildings Fire Protection BLDG 9242

    Our advanced Part 9 Buildings Fire Protection course deals with the design and verification of fire-resistance ratings as found in Division B, Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code. Topics covered include fire protection; means of egress; exit facilities; suppression methods; fire separations; and the separation of major occupancies, service spaces and exits, including penetrations of fire separations.

    Course Essentials:

    You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium and the Part 9: Buildings: Fire Protection technical manual to the first class. The compendium and manual are both available for purchase at the George Brown College bookstore (either on campus or online). You must have your confirmation of registration to purchase the Part 9: Buildings: Fire Protection technical manual from our bookstore. The compendium can also be purchased at the ServiceOntario Publications website.

    You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
