Start by learning to use key functions from each of Excel's function categories (including financial, date/time, math, statistical, lookup/reference, database, text, logical and information). Then acquire the VBA skills needed to create user-defined functions (UDF) so that standardized custom worksheet calculations can be easily inserted into worksheets. Also learn how to centralize the maintenance of VBA procedures and how to share or distribute them with users in a workgroup or over an entire organization.
