LEED Energy and Atmosphere Credits BLDG 9299 Distance Learning Online Email to a Friend This is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) course offered by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) in partnership with George Brown College Continuing Education. CaGBC description: This course examines energy performance and measurement documentation requirements and the use of renewable energy sources. Gain an understanding of how energy and refrigerant use contribute to global warming and other environmental impacts, and how changes to design can reduce operating costs and environmental footprints. Note(s) Course Delivery Method: This is an online course delivered by CaGBC through CaGBC Central, an interactive e-learning platform. Online instructional support will be available. This course consists of a combination of recorded videos, individual assignments and assessments. Each week, you will be required to view the presentation, complete one or more assignments and complete an assessment. (At this time, the course will be heavily focused on LEED 2009 due to the high volume of 2009 project submissions expected over the next two to three years.) You will have six weeks from the day you receive access to the course to complete the course. Once you complete the course, you will be able to download a certificate of completion directly from the course’s virtual classroom. Recommendation(s) You are not required to have any green building experience. However, you will have the most success in this course if you already have foundational knowledge in green building – through the LEED Green Associate credential, the LEED Core Concepts and Strategies course or BLDG 9296 Introduction to LEED and the Integrative Process (the first course of the LSP Program) – before you start this course.
