• Large Buildings 2012 BLDG 9236

    Our Large Buildings 2012 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. This building code course helps you review and become more familiar with the parts of the Ontario Building Code dealing with large buildings. The curriculum reviews the prerequisite material for our BLDG 9259 Complex Buildings 2012 course and the qualification exam. It is based on Large Building Syllabus (2012) and focuses on Division A, Parts 1, 2 and 3; Division B, Part 3; and points of interest as found in Division B, Parts 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12. It also reviews parts of Supplementary Standards SB-2, SB-3, SB-8, SB-10 and SB-13. Also check out our online Large Buildings 2012 course.


    Course Essentials:

    You must bring a copy of the 2012 Building Code Compendium and the Large Buildings 2012 workbook to the first class. The compendium and workbook are both available for purchase at the George Brown College bookstore (either on campus or online) and at our Building Code and Trade Manuals website. The compendium can also be purchased at the Publications Ontario website.

    MMAH Exam:

    The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) exam is not included. MMAH exam and Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) information can be found on the MMAH website. (Humber College hosts the Building Code exams on behalf of the MMAH. Visit the Humber College Ontario Building Code Examinations website to schedule and pay for the applicable exam.)


    You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
