    Our Instructing Adults Certificate helps you develop the essential skills and knowledge you need to work effectively with adult learners. Geared to people already working in the teaching and training of adults, this certificate focuses on the practical application of educational methodologies and is a valuable complement to your specialized training in your area of expertise. The courses are relevant to anyone who delivers training, development or adult education.

    Note(s)

    The Institute for Performance and Learning (formerly the Canadian Society for Training and Development), Canada's leading association of workplace learning professionals, sets the standards for training and development in Canada. The Institute recognizes that this certificate addresses the categories outlined in its Competencies for Training and Development Professionals.

    Advanced Standing

    Once you start this certificate, you are eligible for The Institute for Performance and Learning's Emerging Professional membership. For more information, visit The Institute for Performance and Learning Membership web page.

    Completion Details

    We would advise you to complete the compulsory courses in the order shown below. However, the order in which you complete the course requirements is only restricted by course prerequisites. You must achieve a cumulative grade average of B- (70%) or better to be eligible to request the certificate upon completion.

    • TETR 9066 Adult Learning Fundamentals
    • TETR 9017 Learning Needs Assessments
    • TETR 9031 Instructional Design and Development
    • TETR 9033 Learning Facilitation and Delivery
    • TETR 9027 Adult Learning Evaluation
    • One of the following:
    • TETR 9079 Learning Portfolio Development Online
    • TETR 9044 E-learning
