• Information Security Management Certificate

Securing and protecting information is a key part of any business today. Consider the endless media stories pertaining to the loss of confidential information (often customer data) either because hackers have bypassed the security controls or because employees were not paying enough attention when using their mobile devices, laptops or home computers. Our Information Security Management Certificate covers a broad range of topics within the realm of IT security management. Unlike boot-camp type courses, the courses in this certificate provide you with a deeper understanding of information security, risk management, governance and compliance, risk assessment, risk acceptance, and current information security risks. Learn to make business decisions based on a more-comprehensive set of risk parameters and a more accurate understanding of cybersecurity threats. Your learning experience is enhanced through the use of real-life scenarios and case studies as well as group discussions, small projects, assignments and presentations.

This certificate can help prepare you for such information security professional designations as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). However, the requirements for these designations are set by the applicable governing body, not George Brown College. To pursue any of these designations, you must follow the process listed on the applicable governing body's website and meet the requirements applicable to you.
