Students examine the environmental influences that affect union-management relations, appreciate the complex combination of power, reason, communications, politics, and attitudes that pervade industrial relations processes, and explore bargaining issues and their economic implications. This course also explores essential elements of the collective bargaining process, strategies at the bargaining table, and administration of the collective agreement, grievances and arbitration.
