• Fermenting and Preserving HOSF 9400

    formerly Preserving and Canning II
    Our Fermenting and Preserving course teaches you the art of fermentation, pressure canning and more advanced preserving techniques so that you can enjoy the best of the winter season throughout the year. Learn the techniques used for basic fermentation and year-round preserving as you make your own fermented pickles, kombucha, fermented soda, kimchi, sauerkraut, grapefruit soda, ginger beer, aromatic bitters, pickled beets, spiced pears in syrup, canned chana masala, dried fruit mostarda and more.

    You must bring your full George Brown chef uniform, black safety shoes (non-slip and steel toe) and tools to the first class.

    Prerequisite(s)

    You must have completed our HOSF 9366 Preserving and Canning course or an approved equivalent.
