Educational Assistant Apprenticeship Certificate Email to a Friend The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) delivers the Educational Assistant Apprenticeship Certificate through George Brown College. Intake(s) September Admission Requirement(s) You must apply for and obtain Ministry approval as an apprentice before you can register for courses. Obtaining approval is dependent upon meeting these admission requirements: You must have a secondary school diploma. You must be employed or volunteering at a school where you regularly work or volunteer for 15 to 20 hours per week in a classroom-related activity. You must have an employer or sponsor who is prepared to sign your apprenticeship training agreement. Application Process You are encouraged to attend a scheduled Educational Assistant Apprenticeship information session in February or March for more information about the application process. You must complete all relevant sections of the MAESD's online Application for Apprenticeship Training. Completion Details The course requirements total approximately 435 hours of classroom instruction.
