• Dental Radiography 1 DENT 9239

    Our Dental Radiography 1 course provides an introduction to the principles and applications of intraoral radiographic techniques and quality assurance procedures and helps you meet the requirements of the Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Act. Through this pre-clinical course, learn how to process and mount dental radiographs, how to recognize and solve faulty radiographs and how to identify normal radiographic landmarks. Develop the skills you need to be able to expose and process radiographs of diagnostic value through laboratory practice of various intraoral radiographic techniques and radiation safety protocols.

    Attendance Requirements:

    You must attend 100% of the classes scheduled to pass this course. There are no make-up opportunities for missed radiography lab practice.

    Course Essentials:

    You will be required to have your own uniform for clinical practice.

    Prerequisite(s)

    You must be taking or must have completed our DENT 9271 Dental Anatomy course and you must have completed grade 11 or grade 12 biology and you must currently be working in a dental office and you must also have a dental diploma/degree if you are an international student. Additionally, you must secure departmental approval before you register for this course by emailing cecommunity@georgebrown.ca with scanned copies of your academic transcripts showing your biology course result, a letter from your employer and a copy of your original dental diploma/degree (if applicable). If your documentation is not in English, you must provide translated versions along with copies of the originals. If the name on your documents does not match your current name, you must submit documentation explaining the name change.
