    OntarioLearn description: This course introduces students to a multi-module accounting software program designed for small to medium-size businesses. Students will use the software and their knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to create and maintain accounting records, including period end procedures and the creation of financial statements for sole proprietorships.

    This is an online course delivered via OntarioLearn. Please ensure you are familiar with the technology requirements specific to this course:

    • Hardware: Processor operating at 1.0 GHz or higher (2.0 GHz recommended) with 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended), 2 GB of available hard-disk space (additional 400 MB needed for installation), CD-ROM drive, 1024x768 SVGA monitor capable of displaying 256 colours
    • Operating system: Microsoft-supported version of Windows Vista/7/8 with the latest updates from Microsoft
    • Software: Sage 50 Accounting 2016 (students will be instructed on how to install a free Student Version of the software, which is obtained through purchase of the correct textbook, in the first week of the course) and Internet Explorer 7 or later

    Prerequisite(s)

    You must have completed ACCT 9106 Accounting Basics I or an approved equivalent.
