• Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) Course Equivalencies

The not-for-profit Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) offers the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation, which comprises nine courses that prepare you for greater financial and job security as a professional bookkeeper. Certified bookkeepers are governed by a code of ethics that sets out professional responsibilities and conduct. George Brown College has been recognized by the CIB as a provider of courses that are valid equivalents of CB academic requirements. For each of the George Brown College Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) course equivalencies listed here that you pass, you will be eligible for exemption from the equivalent CIB course. (However, you must achieve a cumulative grade average of 65% or better to be eligible for the designation.) Course exemptions must be approved by the CIB. (Exemption policies are subject to change without notice, and certain courses may be subject to a time limit for registration.)

    Note(s)

The courses listed here may not represent the extent of the CB designation requirements. The requirements are set by the CIB, not George Brown College. To pursue the CB designation (or any other CIB designation), you must follow the process listed on the CIB website and meet the requirements applicable to you. For more information about the CB designation and courses, visit the CIB website.

    Prerequisite(s)

You must have completed our COMP 9332 Computer Literacy and Windows course or an approved equivalent.
