Basic Sewing FASH 9142 Email to a Friend Our Basic Sewing course teaches you how to cut and sew a variety of garments (using commercial patterns and fashion fabric) as well as how to take body measurements and conduct basic garment fittings. This sewing course takes a hands-on approach by providing supervised lab time, providing access to industrial equipment and assigning projects. Note(s) Course Essentials: You will be required to provide your own commercial patterns and fashion fabric for four garments as well as scissors, flat-head screwdriver, sewing thread, pins, seam ripper, hand needles and measuring tape. (You should expect to spend $50 to $100 in addition to the course fee on these materials.)
