• Basic Sewing FASH 9142

Using fashion fabric and commercial patterns, learn how to cut and sew a variety of garments as well as how to take body measurements and conduct basic garment fittings. Our Basic Sewing course takes a hands-on approach by providing supervised lab time, providing access to industrial equipment and assigning projects.

You will be required to provide your own scissors, flat-head screwdriver, commercial patterns and fashion fabric for four garments, sewing thread, pins, seam ripper, hand needles and measuring tape. (You should expect to spend $50 to $100 on materials.)
