Acute Care Nursing Clinical NURS 1116 New Email to a Friend Our Acute Care Nursing Clinical course provides you with the opportunity to combine and apply your prior learning to the care of patients and families experiencing acute illness across the lifespan. This hospital-based clinical placement uses an immersive, interprofessional approach to expanding your communication and collaborative skills in the care of the acutely ill patient. Learn to emphasize reflective practice to promote critical thinking and decision making. Advance the competencies required for safe and ethical nursing practice that will prepare you for practice in acute care settings. Note(s) This course is intended to meet specific College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) requirements. Prerequisite(s) You must be a nurse (RN or RPN), and you must have completed your clinical pre-placement health form, including a police vulnerable-sector record check, CPR for health care providers and mask fit testing.
