Explore cross-cultural beliefs, practices and attitudes regarding health, sickness and healing. Focus on the influence of religion and moral concerns on notions of illness and healing in many cultures. Consider the interrelationship of traditional medicine, current alternative therapies in North America and the medical culture in the West. Also see our in-class course.
