Medical Office Assistant Certificate

This certificate provides the knowledge and skills required to support the administration of offices in the health care and medical fields. Learn the skills required in such areas as reception responsibilities, record keeping, OHIP and WSIB computer billing and payroll. Note(s):

You must be able to type 45 wpm in order to complete OP 9014 (Medical Machine Transcription I).

Career Opportunities:

This certificate is intended to prepare graduates to work in hospitals, medical/sports clinics, doctors' offices and medical insurance companies.

Prerequisite(s):

You must have a secondary school diploma and a Grade 12 English credit with a grade of B- (70%) or better. If you do not meet the English requirement or you are applying as a mature student (19 years of age or older without a secondary school diploma), you must achieve the equivalent General English Assessment result.
