Our Vegetarian Culinary Arts 1 course uses a plant-based perspective to teach you about culinary basics, including ingredients, equipment, knife skills, stocks, sauces, meat substitutes, cooking methods and more. Learn to make seitan, sauces and dairy and egg alternatives as well as familiar and new classic dishes. The majority of the recipes used are plant-based.

Course Essentials:

You must have a full George Brown chef uniform, black safety shoes (non-slip and steel toe) and tools for this course. The teacher will provide you with a bookstore voucher for a uniform package, but you must purchase your shoes and tools separately. The teacher will provide a list of required tools during the first class.
